Iai Jutsu Instruction
Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu is taught, in addition to Budo culture and etiquette. Japanese language will be taught and used in class. Students are encouraged to attend as many classes as possible.
Please attend a week of class with no commitment, no charge. Get a feel for Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu and the spirit of Portland Komei Juku. If Iai Jutsu captures your attention, we will assist you in obtaining quality equipment for your training experience.
Ultimately, each student will need to obtain kimono, hakama, obi, knee pads, tabi and bokken. Properly selecting, fitting and maintaining your sword and attire is important to our school's honor and will be a key part of your training.

Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu
The art of traditional Japanese swordsmanship as practiced by samurai since the 16th century. Iai Jutsu is among the oldest Japanese Budo arts and the sword is deeply rooted in Japanese culture.
Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu practitioners embrace and preserve the art through practice.
The nuance, grace and precision, required by Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu, admittedly demand a certain dedication. Sekiguchi Komei Sensei 21st Grand Master Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu
Sensei has devoted 40 years of his life to the focused study of Budo arts and the sword.
Twelve months of the year Sekiguchi Sensei travels, training Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu with Komei Juku students from around the world.
The Komei School is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan with dojos in North and South America, Europe (including Russia), Asia, Australia and the Pacific Islands.
(The Komei School) teaches Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu by means of direct transmission. This methodology places importance on the student receiving instruction without intermediation.
Sekiguchi Komei Sensei delivers the Komei Juku direct transmission curriculum on an international scale, demonstrating his dedication to preserving Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu.
Komei Juku is dedicated to Nihon Kobudo Enbu Taikai; attending this prestigious event every other year it is held. At Enbu, and at shrines across Japan, Sekiguchi Komei Sensei and Komei Juku honor Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu.
Sensei leads the Portland Komei Juku Seishukai Dojo under the direct authority of Sekiguchi Komei Sensei.
The mission of Portland Komei Juku is to actively and accurately preserve the art of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Jutsu through practice. Sonoko Sensei embraces this mission and hopes that you will too.
